We are looking forward to exhibiting this year at the International Workboat Show December 4-6th in New Orleans. This show has been an excellent opportunity to bring together marine and offshore suppliers, operators and ship owners in the Gulf of Mexico region. With over 20+ years of history at the show, we thought we’d share some of our recommendations for making the most out of your week at Workboat.
#1 – Check your email for your registration confirmation. The easy-to-scan show pass will help you bypass lines upon show arrival.
#2 – Having hotel accommodations within walking distance to the Ernest N. Morial Convention center is key to making your week efficient. Although staying in the French Quarter is often a popular tourist destination, the traffic can take up significant time toward accessing the convention center and networking events surrounding the show.
#3 –Thursday is the most attended day and when the heaviest presence of people interact with vendor booths. We would recommend attending Wednesday or Thursday as opposed to Friday, a day typically trafficked more heavily by the general public and students.
#4 – Networking also happens after the show! The actual exhibit floor provides an opportunity to see the latest products and technology for the industry, but valuable networking connections can be made at various exhibitor sponsored events during happy hour and late into the evening. Supreme Integrated Technology will be hosting its annual happy hour event on Thursday evening. To receive an invite to the event, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
#5 – Take some time to enjoy New Orleans – December is a great time of year (with the cooler temperatures) to see the sights and explore the live music scene. Check out restaurants in the warehouse district (walking distance from the show) such as Pêche, Emeril’s, Herbsaint, Tommy’s Cuisine and many more. Visit Jackson Square, a historic landmark where the Louisiana purchase negotiations began, have beignets and coffee at Café du Monde, check out Frenchman street for authentic New Orleans jazz music, and end the night with the dance floors on Bourbon street or a visit to the iconic Carousel Bar in Hotel Monteleone. If you have a few hours to sightsee, exploring the Uptown neighborhood gives you local restaurants and local hotspots for brunch.
